We have a dedicated team working closely with the NTG Department of Health to eradicate exotic mosquito vector-borne diseases from our communities.
Over the past three years our goal has been achieved. There has been no Ades Aegypti (responsible for carrying diseases such as yellow fever, dengue fever, chikungunya, Zika fever and Mayaro fever) found in the local area since 2014.
Originally from Africa, they have migrated and are now found in tropical and sub-tropical regions throughout the world.
With regular trapping and monitoring through ovitraps, BG and EVS traps taking place, the outcome continues to be extremely effective.
