Event: Mind your health

We can all do something to help shed a more positive light on mental health.

On: Wednesday, 10 October 2018

One in five Australians are affected by mental illness, yet so many people don’t seek help because of the stigma.
Help raise awareness about the importance of social and emotional well-being in our community as part of World Mental Health Day (10 October) and Mental Health Week 7-13 October.
The aim of Mental Health Week is to promote social and emotional well-being in the community, encourage people to maximise their health potential, enhance the coping capacity of communities, families, individuals and increase mental health recovery.

Objectives of Mental Health Week:

  • Increase mental health literacy in the general population
  • Decrease the stigma surrounding mental illness
  • Increase help-seeking or preventative behaviours
  • Celebrate the achievements of mental health consumers
  • Develop public and stakeholder awareness of the range of services available

Your mental health is just as important as your physical health. Take care of it together.

If you or someone you know is struggling, please contact Lifeline on 13 11 14.
