News: Friends of the cemetery meet
The inaugural meeting of Barkly Regional Council’s Friends of the Cemetery committee was held in mid-January.

Committee chairperson Cr Narelle Bremner said there had been a number of complaints over the years over the state of the cemetery and council identified a group of stakeholders and Tennant Creek residents was needed to drive the way the cemetery was managed.
The first meeting established a terms of reference for the committee and began identifying a plan for the future to make the cemetery a better place.
Plans were also made to begin public consultation on what changes people were hoping for at the cemetery.
