Safe House Team Leader - Ali Curung

About the Role
The Safe House Team Leader – Ali Curung provides critical support to women and children affected by domestic, family, and community violence. This role offers comprehensive case management, outreach to at-risk individuals, and leadership of Safe House operations, ensuring 24/7 availability of emergency accommodation.
You will work closely with Safe House Workers, government agencies, and community stakeholders to provide immediate assistance, information, and referrals, while maintaining a safe, supportive, and culturally respectful environment. Flexibility is essential, as the role may include on-call duties and occasional sleepovers, with allowances provided.

- Demonstrated previous experience running Safe Houses or formal qualifications in Social Work, Psychology, or Community Development.
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to quickly establish trust and rapport while maintaining confidentiality in accordance with the Privacy Act. Solid understanding of the issues surrounding domestic and family violence.

Community Care Coordinator

About the Role
Barkly Regional Council is seeking a committed and proactive Community Care Coordinator to support the operational and strategic delivery of our Aged Care and Disability Programs. This role works closely with the Regional Manager Community Care to ensure programs such as the National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Flexible Aged Care Program (NATSIFACP) and the Commonwealth Home Support Program (CHSP) meet the Aged Care Quality Standards and Council’s funding and reporting requirements.

How do I apply?
To guide you through the recruitment process and to maximise your chance of your application being successful, the following steps are provided.
STEP ONE: Read the position description carefully

The cover letter
First impressions count! The cover letter introduces you. Ideally, the letter should not be more than one page and include:
• The title of the position you are applying for
• Where you saw the position advertised
• Why you are applying for the position
• Why you believe you are the right person for the job
The resume / CV
A resume or Curriculum vitae (CV) is a short chronological statement of your work history and qualifications. Ideally, your resume should not exceed more than three pages and include:
• Your employment history (including overview of duties, employment dates, your position title and the organisation name)
• Your qualifications (including the qualification title, year awarded and institution name)
• Other information (include any key achievements, volunteer work or any other relevant information)

What happens next?
Upon receiving your application, we will:
- Acknowledge your application by a system generated email
- Keep your application confidential and not discuss it with anyone outside of the process
- Assess your application on merit

The interview process
A selection panel, usually comprised of two or three people, will interview selected applicants. The panel follows a structured process, asking all applicants the same set of questions. The questions are developed to assess how well each applicant matches the given criteria. You will also have the opportunity to ask questions throughout, and at the end, of the interview and are encouraged to think of some questions prior to your scheduled interview. You are encouraged to consider some questions that may be asked and your response prior to the interview. The panel may follow up or explore particular issues that arise from individual applicants.
On average an interview usually takes about 45 minutes.
Candidates, who have been unsuccessful following their interview, will receive an email notification of the outcome. Due to the number of applications we receive, it may not be possible to provide feedback.
