On: Sunday, 4 March 2018
As part of the global International Women’s Day (IWD) festivities, there will be a breakfast for the women of Tennant Creek at the swimming pool on Sunday, 4 March from 8.30am onwards.
With a welcoming address by the Mayor Steve Edgington, breakfast will be served by the Clontarf boys and there will be speeches by inspiring women of the region.
A spokesperson for the IWD Committee, which received a grant from the NT Government’s Office of Women’s Policy to hold events locally, said they chose to have a breakfast to celebrate the strength, resilience and achievements of all local women as well as the long journey ahead.
“This is a time not only to reflect on how far women have come around the world and in the region, but how far we have to go,” she said.
For further details call Ktima Heathcote, PR & Events Manager, Barkly Regional Council, on 8962 0027. Breakfast will be a gold coin donation.
