Registration & Microchipping

Lost dogs are alone – registration brings them home!

Registration and identification of dogs in the Barkly region is important for the well-being of the dog, owner's peace of mind and to allow the Council to plan for future community needs.
Under the Tennant Creek (Control of Dogs) Bylaws, all dogs over three months old are to be registered with Council.
All dogs MUST be registered each financial year from 1 July to 30 June, and wear a tag.
Fines will be issued if dogs are not wearing their tag.
Fees and charges relating to Dog Registrations can be located HERE

  • Discounts apply for pensioners
  • Discounts apply for sterilised dogs (owners must provide proof of sterilisation to claim the concession rate or complete a statutory declaration).
