Event: Traditional Dance Festival

Prepare for two days of authentic cultural immersion with this unique festival in Ali Curung.

On: Saturday, 29 September 2018

Each year, the community of Ali Curung holds a Traditional Dance Festival which aims to embrace cultural awareness through music, song and dance.
The two-day festival engages the community on all levels, generating cultural harmony between Indigenous locals and non-Indigenous visitors.
It also presents a unique opportunity to allow non-Indigenous visitors to experience bush tucker, bush medicine and Indigenous culture first-hand providing a rare opportunity for authentic cultural immersion.
There will be painting demonstrations, a traditional spear throwing competition using woomeras, artifact and jewelry making workshops and a fire making competition, using boomerangs.
This is a drug & alcohol free event from 29-30 September.
