Event: Women get together

Get inspired for International Women's Day with the #BalanceforBetter theme

On: Friday, 8 March 2019

Celebrate International Women's Day in Tennant Creek with a parade down the main street from 10am-10.30am.
Gather outside the Matt Glynn Building, Paterson Street, and walk proudly down to Peko Park where there will be speeches and a community barbecue.
Sponsored by the Office of Gender Equity and Diversity, Tshanka Storey and a cohort of women in town are organising the event with Barkly Regional Council providing admin support.
Email tshanka.storey@nt.gov.au to take part.
From grassroots activism to worldwide action, we are entering an exciting period of history where the world expects balance.
We notice its absence and celebrate its presence.
Balance  drives a better working world.
Collective action and shared responsibility for driving a gender-balanced world is key.
International Women's Day is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women - while also marking a call to action for accelerating gender balance.
The first International Women's Day occurred in 1911, supported by over one million people. Today, IWD belongs to all groups collectively everywhere.
Let's all help create a #BalanceforBetter and celebrate on International Women's Day.
