Council adopted its Annual Regional Plan 2023-2024 at its Ordinary Meeting on 29 June.

The biggest change in the Plan is the organisational restructure which sees the removal of the Infrastructure directorate.

In its place is a dedicated Tennant Creek directorate, with the Operations directorate concentrating on community services and Local Authorities.

“The Acting CEO Russell Anderson who has decades of experience in local government, decided a restructure was needed to rectify the long-standing issues between town and bush,” said Mayor Jeffrey McLaughlin.

The Tennant Creek division now oversees the office reception, library, waste and animal management, by-laws, pool, gym, youth centre, Mary Ann Dam and current labour positions attached to the Council depot plus the Tennant Creek Local Authority.

The Operations division is responsible for remote communities including local authorities, the establishment of a relief Area Manager, a technical group including fleet management, contact/project manager and homelands and administration.

Also in the Plan are the current rates declaration and fees and charges.
